HOW TO STORE YOUR MANOLO BLAHNIK SHOES

Always store your Manolo Blahnik shoes in their care bag placed inside the shoebox and out of direct sunlight and heat. Ensure shoes with crystals and/or hardware are stored in such a way the accessories are not pulling on any outer fabrication of the shoes. Ensure the shoes are well ventilated before storage.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE SHAPE OF YOUR SHOES

It is only natural for the shape of the shoes to change over time. Not only will your Manolo Blahnik shoes mould to the shape of your own foot but they may stretch further with extensive wear.

To maintain the shape of your shoes we recommend stuffing the shoes with un-coloured tissue paper or using a shoe tree.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE SOLES

The soles of your Manolo Blahnik shoes are made from smooth and delicate leather and will therefore be subject to marking upon first wear. This is not a manufacturing defect. It is a natural process and part of the normal wear of the shoes.

It is not recommended to walk on any wet surfaces as this may alter the structure of the soles and cause staining to the upper.

We do not recommend replacing the soles as this may alter the structure of the shoes.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE LINING

The lining of your Manolo Blahnik shoes is made from smooth leather. You can gently remove surface dirt on the lining of your shoes by using a clean damp cloth to wipe away any impurities. For shoes with suede lining you can use a soft suede brush to gently smooth the pile.

HOW TO MAINTAIN THE HEEL TIPS

With extensive wear the heel tips of your Manolo Blahnik shoes may naturally deteriorate. It is recommended to change the heel tips once they start to wear down, before the inner heel begins to show. This is important as having an unstable heel can lead to balancing issues and effect the shape of the entire shoe.

You can change your heel tips at a reputable cobbler.

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR CRYSTAL ACCESSORIES

Manolo Blahnik products are constructed by hand, including the placement of our exquisite crystal buckles. It is important to ensure the crystals and the surrounding hardware are kept out of contact of the upper fabrication as this may cause the material to snag, scratch or tear.

Ensure the shoes are stored in their care bags in such a way that the crystals do not come into contact with any part of the fabric.

Avoid contact with water, alcohol, oils and solvents. If the hardware happens to be in contact with water, pat dry with a cloth immediately.

TIPS FOR CALF & NAPPA LEATHER

Calf leather is smooth and strong providing a light and durable upper for your shoes. As with all animal skins, leather will naturally wrinkle and soften with age. You can gently remove surface dirt by using a clean, dry, soft cloth.

A neutral leather conditioner can be used to maintain the softness of the leather however ensure this is spot tested and the shoes are thoroughly dry before use.

TIPS FOR METALLIC LEATHER (LAMINATED NAPPA LEATHER)

Metallic leather is a delicate form of leather that uses a lamination process to provide a smooth, iridescent finish. Due to its sensitivity, metallic leathers may mark easily and therefore require special care and attention. To ensure the longevity of our products, we recommend storing and / or transporting the shoes in their protective dust bags to reduce the effect of friction. We also recommend avoiding contact with sharp or abrasive objects, which may result in damage to the surface of the material.

Do not apply any leather care products to metallic leather.

TIPS FOR PATENT LEATHER

The smooth and glossy appearance of patent leather is achieved with a varnish coating providing a durable outer layer for your shoes. To maintain the gloss of patent leather you can use a soft cloth to gently remove surface dirt. Due to its sensitivity to colour transfer ensure you store the shoes in their care bags away from any other leather materials, direct light and/or heat.

You can gently remove surface dirt and unify the pile of the fabrication by using a soft suede brush. To maintain richness of colour, ensure the shoes are stored in their care bags away from any direct light or heat.

A waterproofing spray may help protect the suede from light water contact. Always spot test products first to ensure colourfastness.

TIPS FOR LINEN, COTTON AND CANVAS

Natural, woven fabrications such as linen, cotton and canvas provide a durable and strong upper material. It is not unusual for natural fibres to fade over time, so we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight or strong light. Do not spray the PVC with any leather care products as this may alter the clarity of the fabrication.
