To mark 30 years of Manolo's Mary Jane, a special event was held at the Greenhouse at Nine Orchard in New York with friends of the House.

Host Kristina Blahnik delighted the crowd with anecdotes and stories of one of Manolo Blahnik's most iconic styles. The evening was accompanied by a beautiful performance by Dianna Agron, with the view of Manhattan's skyline as the backdrop.

The now-iconic style was first introduced as part of the Autumn Winter 1994 collection. Inspired by a desire to move on from the grand and ornate collections of the early 90s and to create something more restrained. It started with the idea of a classic Mary Jane style with an idea to make it sexier in black patent with a pointed toe and a high heel.

Manolo's Mary Jane was first featured in a 7-page editorial in Vogue US in August 1994; many other major publications followed. This style has now become an essential to every modern wardrobe with the perfect balance of elegance and ease and has been reimagined season after season.

For Summer '24 the timeless style is reimagined in delicate mesh. Manolo celebrates his Spanish roots with an elegant edit of polka dots imbued into his classic Mary Jane.
